College Essay Writing
What it does...
This program is designed to assist a student in the complete crafting of their college essay. Typically, we begin assessing quality examples of college essays. We then develop a concept and organize the structure, before writing the initial draft of the essay. Following the completion of the first draft, we focus on refining and tweaking the writing until it highlights who you are and the value you can bring to a university.
Timing
A typical essay can be crafted in about five sessions, but it may need additional work depending on the complexity of the topic. We focus on the process, so additional essays can be created without going through the entire program again.
Structure
Planning Meeting – We begin a discussion about what you want to say in your essay. Your transcript provides insight into your grades, your activities, and your accomplishments, but the essay allows you to provide the admissions office with a glimpse of who you are beyond your transcript, your test scores, and your G.P.A.
Tutoring Session – Sessions will focus on developing ideas and building off the previous progress made on the essay. Typically, the first sessions focus on developing the larger concepts and a direction, then we begin to narrow our attention to more specific writing, organization, and tone as the essay develops.
